IT Security Project Management Experience Needed!
Responsible for driving "end to end" Project Management to support projects for the Office of Information Security (OIS) from the annual planning process and business case preparation, through initiation, planning and delivering all aspects of a successful project. Lead and guide the work of technical staff. Serve as liaison between business and technical aspects of projects.
Plan project stages and assess business implications for each stage. Monitor progress to assure deadlines, standards, and cost targets are met.
Work closely with the Chief Information Security Officer and other stakeholders to develop mitigation plans/resolutions to meet project objectives; and, as you are establishing strategies to resolve project issues and risks also capture and document other opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities

Manage all aspects of information security project management and project lifecycles by effectively initiating, planning, executing and controlling multiple high profile, high priority projects at the same time.

Create and maintain project schedules. Identify and monitor overall project timeline, project milestones, tasks, resources, task dependencies, and critical paths. Ensure all projects adhere to project methodology compliance standards set by the company.

Collaborate with different IT departments to ensure proper resource alignment and successful project delivery.

Build, lead, and coach multiple project teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Manage issues and risk prevention/mitigation by anticipating and identifying risks and issues that may impact timeline, deliverables and service quality. Develop, communicate and implement mitigation plan and corrective action(s). Assess and resolve all high priority project risks as they are encountered.

Conduct regular team status meetings and stakeholder meetings. Communicate with different levels of IT staff and leadership teams by providing program/project status and executive reports. Continually update relevant business stakeholders of project status.

Identifying business requirements and preparation/coordination of business cases to support our clients' requests for funding as well as other project documentation.

Ensure all projects meet success parameters and ROI targets stated in the business case.

Partner with business sponsors to define success metrics and criteria, as well as to capture baselines to measure against for continuous improvement.

Manage scope on multiple projects

Manage data gathering and analytics tasks.

Information Security and Technical Skills:

Working knowledge of the concepts behind at least one of the following categories of technologies and/or frameworks:

Infrastructure Network Access Control (NAC) Security e.g. CISCO ISE

Email impersonation prevention e.g. DMARC, DKIM, SPF

IT Risk Management e.g. RSAM
-
Information Security frameworks e.g. NIST and ISO27001 - ISO27002
Additional Qualification:

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required

Previous program management experience strongly preferred

PMP preferred

Any information security related certification from reputable entity, e.g. ISC2/ISSA, ISACA, GIAC, etc. a plus
Other:
- High performers will have an opportunity to have the contract extended on an annual basis or be considered as contract-to-hire.
- Billing is capped at a Professional workday (8 hours x rate). Capped at 40 hours per week.
- Consultant may have to travel to our various sites (in Manhattan and Brooklyn)
