Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

GENERAL SUMMARY:

This engineer position carries the responsibilities for cloud infrastructure design, implementation and support for our client and its clients. The responsibilities include evaluation of existing and evolving Cloud offerings to determine solutions that best meet the client needs. The candidate must have a broad knowledge base of networking, server support, the implementation and administration of virtual cloud environments such as Microsoft Cloud products and AWS.           

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:                                                                             

·       Evaluate existing company environments to determine cloud solutions that meet varying client needs.

·       Ability to perform vendor product analysis, evaluation, certification and recommendation of new or enhanced IT vendor products / services

·       Develop strategies and roadmaps that ensure optimal performance and productivity utilizing best-practices

·       Ensure that solutions incorporate high availability, scalability for future growth, and operation supportability including automation

·       Establish infrastructure technology standards, implementation test plans and design templates

·       Work with the engineering and account management teams to make recommendations and build business cases for client proposals.

·       Implement and maintain cloud environments, troubleshoot and resolve performance issues

·       Provide technical expertise and hands-on support in consolidation and migration of databases to new platforms

·       Project planning and deployment for the new technologies being implemented.

·       Ability to communicate with C-Level decision makers

·       Support for virtual infrastructure servers and applications.

·       Evaluation and support for remote access to the cloud environments.

·       Produce and maintain documentation of the client environments.

·       Ability to provide training and documentation on support processes and procedures to other technical teams who will be supporting client environments.

·       Improve internal customer service, perception, and satisfaction.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities Required:

·       Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent work experience

·       5+ years of deep experience building cloud data solutions

·       Strong knowledge of various cloud offerings such as Azure[JW3] , AWS, and private cloud environments

·       Experience with Remote Desktop Solutions (i.e., VDI, AVD, WVD)

·       Understanding of Microsoft Office 365 and evolving support capabilities with their platforms, including experience implementing and optimizing Microsoft Cloud Solutions (Intune, Azure Active Directory, Lighthouse)

·       Extensive experience in supporting large network infrastructures

·       Experience in supporting all Microsoft platforms and operating systems

·       Extensive knowledge of storage and data backup solutions.

·       Knowledge of Windows server support tasks, such as Active Directory configuration, group policy, AD replication, user and group level file access.

·       Experience with Hypervisor Solutions (VMware ESX, Microsoft Hyper-V, Citrix)

·       Extensive experience with RMM and network management platforms

·       Strong interpersonal skills, need to be able to communicate with non-technical staff so they understand the changes that are being implemented.

·       Need to be able to work in a team of peers for communicating change management 

·       Self-motivated, with ability to work with minimal supervision

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to communicate at all levels of the organization

·       Excellent customer service skills to provide technical customer support

Certifications Desired

·       Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associated or Expert required

·       Microsoft 365 Certified: Messaging Administrator Associate

·       Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate or Expert
