BI Business Analyst Consulting Position

• Our client is currently seeking a Business Intelligence Business Analyst consultant to support Finance Reporting and Analysis requirements from our data warehouse.
• This role is responsible for gathering and documenting business requirements as well as participating in technical design to support development and enhancement of data warehouse tables, reports and analyses.
• This person will be responsible for developing a deep knowledge of our client's Finance reporting requirements and existing data warehouse environment.
• He/she will conduct Backlog Grooming sessions, document business models including Star Schemas, and create comprehensive user Stories. As the SME, person will also closely partner with the architects and development teams to ensure conformance of solutions to architecture standards and technical guidelines.
• He/she will partner with the team to ensure that detailed QA Test Criteria are developed and executed to ensure high quality solutions. The BI Systems Analyst will help to define viable systems solutions to complex business requests and ensure that the business and technical teams are both aligned on the solution.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Finance business users to understand business needs and translate them into user Stories.
• Assist business partners in continuously prioritizing Stories for incremental implementation.
• Ensure that Stories are appropriately slotted for Sprints and assist the Scrum Master in the development of Epics and Release plans.
• Participate in daily Scrums and provide guidance to the team on requirements details.
• Partner closely with the technical teams to ensure that Stories meet business needs
• Participate with the development team in Sprint Planning, daily Scrums, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives and conduct Backlog Grooming to produce working code each Sprint.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree and/or relevant experience in IT related to software development or support
• 6 to 8 years’ experience in a Business or Systems Analyst role
• Experience working with business areas to understand their processes and problems, and proposing solutions based on that understanding.
• Experience designing Star Schemas in an enterprise data warehouse environment.
• Experience defining Data Mart solutions
• Proven analyst skills spanning business functions and applications
• Full lifecycle solution development and experience working as part of a team that delivers high quality, working software.
• Demonstrated experience documenting User Stories and/or use cases and functional requirements.
• Basic SQL query skills and strong familiarity navigating database structures and integration design documentation
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Superior interpersonal, written, verbal and presentation skills
• Demonstrated ability to effectively lead cross functional departments in requirements and Backlog Grooming sessions
• Demonstrated ability to partner and liaison between business users and a technical development team
• Previous experience developing BI Solutions in an integrated Data Warehouse environment

Preferred

• 3+ years of Agile and SDLC experience
• Experience in multiple technology platforms (eCommerce, order management systems, analytics, CRM, email service providers, CMS, image repository, data warehouse, etc.)
• Experience in retail and Finance·
• Experience with global & luxury brands·
• Previous experience working on large transformational initiatives / re-platforms
