IT Manager – Cloud Architecture and Engineering
 
Description
 
The IT Manager of Cloud Architecture and Engineering defines the reference architecture that will guide our client's cloud deployments. The IT Manager of Cloud Architecture and Engineering provides guidance and direction to the Cloud Engineering team while overseeing all on-premise to cloud migrations. Secondary tasks will include the identification of appropriate cloud provisioning and monitoring solutions, and the development of an “infrastructure as code” implementation. The IT Manager of Cloud Architecture and Engineering is expected to interface with peers in the Applications, Systems and Security groups as well as with the leaders of the business units to ensure a secure and highly available customer experience.
 
Responsibilities
 
 
Strategy & Planning
 
·       Create and maintain the enterprise’s cloud reference architecture and overall cloud migration strategy.
 
·       Create, and maintain the IT Infrastructure group’s cloud training program.
 
·       Create and maintain the group’s cloud documentation (policies, standards, baselines, guidelines, and procedures).
 
·       Create and maintain the group’s Business Continuity Plan and Disaster Recovery Plan, where appropriate.
 
 
 
Acquisition & Deployment
 
·       Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the IT cloud industry including awareness of new or revised cloud solutions, and improved cloud security processes and offerings.
 
·       Recommend and acquire additional cloud solutions or enhancements to existing cloud solutions to improve the overall cloud computing environment as per the enterprise’s existing procurement processes.
 
·       Oversee the deployment, integration, and initial configuration of all new cloud solutions and of any enhancements to existing cloud solutions in accordance with standard best practice operating procedures.
 
 
 
Operational Management
 
·       Ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the data residing on or transmitted to/from/through cloud-based networks, servers, and in databases and other data repositories.
 
·       Ensure the enforcement of enterprise cloud guidelines.
 
·       Collaborate with the IT Security team in the design and execution of vulnerability assessments, penetration tests and security audits.
 
·       Participate in regular security awareness training to ensure consistently high levels of compliance with enterprise security initiatives.
 
·       Engage in ongoing communications with peers in the Systems and Networking groups as well as the various business groups to ensure enterprise wide understanding of cloud computing goals, to solicit feedback and to foster co-operation.
 
·       All other duties as assigned.
 
 
Position Requirements
 
 
Formal Education & Certification
 
·       College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or 5 years equivalent work experience.
 
·       One or more of the following certifications:
 
o  Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert 
 
o  Google Professional Cloud Architect
 
o  AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
 
                                  
 
Knowledge & Experience
 
·       Extensive experience in cloud architecture.
 
·       Extensive experience in Azure cloud deployments.
 
·       Experience in designing and delivering cloud training for IT Infrastructure personnel.
 
·       Experience in developing Business Continuity Plans and Disaster Recovery Plans.
 
·       Experience in managing of staff of 2 to 12 individuals.
 
·       Working technical knowledge of end point security systems.
 
·       Strong understanding of IP, TCP/IP, and other network administration protocols.
 
·       Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems.
 
·       Familiarity with D365, CRM and eCommerce applications.

Work Conditions
 
 
·       40-hour on-site/remote work week with on-call availability.
