Project Manager – Oracle EBS

The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring that a project roadmap is delivered on time, within budget, and with quality meeting expectations of all stakeholders.  The project manager is responsible for working across all functional and technical areas to ensure a successful project delivery occurs. This position oversees multiple project teams with around 15+ resources in total and is responsible to create and manage the project plan, and drive the coordination across all groups to deliver tasks as outlined in the project plan.

The project manager will establish and drive project management policy, process, and metrics that team members will use. The project manager will ensure that there is a high degree of collaboration and dependency management across the project so that all milestones and budgets can be delivered. The project manager will maintain early warning systems and intervene and escalate issues in the project that is heading off course. The project manager will assist with the periodic project review process to drive transparency and accountability across the organization.

The project manager will be responsible for the financial health of the project, which includes managing the budget, working with teams within and outside of the project to secure funding as needed, and building and tracking the progress of the business case.

This is a challenging role with many touchpoints with senior executive management in both the technology organization and business units at Scholastic.  The position requires an individual with strong communication skills, a driver of action, attention to details, and team motivation skills.

Core Responsibilities

?                Responsible primarily for the delivery of the project roadmaps and execution of project plans

?                Owns the project roadmaps and coordinates inputs from key stakeholders to influence the roadmaps

?                Owns and enforces consistency and best practices in management execution across the project

?                Standardizes processes for managing schedule, scope, risks, and dependencies

?                Interfaces with lines of businesses to ensure expectations are met and quality of delivery is smooth and efficient

?                Maintains accountability for the overall health of the projects across financial, best practices, quality, and delivery spectrums

?                Responsible for supporting organizational initiatives as part of overall continuous improvement for the technology organization

?                Provides senior level executive communications on status of the project and key risks/mitigation plans

?                Resolves issues and blockers for the project and escalates to senior management as needed

?                Builds, owns, and monitors the business case

?                Builds and owns the project plans

?                Works with dependent projects to make sure resourcing and project needs are met

 

Qualification/Skills

?                5+ years of project management experience with technology projects

?                At minimum a BS degree in computer science or other relevant technology fields

?                Expert experience in Project Management concepts and strategy

?                Experience in Agile methodologies and frameworks, including Scrum and Kanban

?                3+ years of experience with Oracle EBS

?                Strong Vendor Management Skills

?                Ability to coach teams on Agile best practices

?                Experience with managing scope, schedule, resources and budgets for multiple projects

?                Experience working with multiple business groups to balance expectations

?                Experience with risk management and tracking project deliverables

?                Knowledge of technical software development and quality engineering concepts

?                A track record of successfully delivering projects in a large matrixed organization

?                Financial and budgetary skills

?                Experience managing systems integrators to deliver quality solutions

?                Ability to work collaboratively with teams and possesses a hands-on attitude

?                Strong written and verbal communication skills, presentation experience to senior leadership

?                Strong interpersonal skills

?     Detail oriented and organized

 

Additional Information

?                Should also possess management experience with technology package solutions. 

?                Experience with onshore/offshore delivery model

?                Ability to work across distinct technology groups

?                Basic understanding of product and inventory management systems a plus

?                Experience with Jira and Confluence

?                Experience with project management tools such as SmartSheets a plus
