Job Description:

The Program Manager (PGM) is responsible first and foremost for the successful, high-quality delivery of the program roadmaps and milestones related to our client’s ERP transformation initiatives. In order to achieve this, the PM must manage the application development/business milestones, dependencies internal and external to the program, risks, resources on the program and budget. It is critical the delivery of the program be confined to the boundaries of the allocated budget and the responsibility of the PM to manage and escalate when needed. The PM is also responsible for driving areas peripheral, but essential to the program such as change management, operational processes, engineering best practices, and maturity of Agile delivery within the program teams. These areas are pertinent to the success of the overall program.

The Program Manager will work closely with Project Managers, Key Business Stakeholders, Technology Leadership Team, Technology Team Leads, and Scrum Masters to identify, prioritize, and complete project milestones for the assigned program and help to apply the SDLC of choice, in most cases, Agile Scrum, in a logical and reasonable manner, communicating status and ensuring work is executed on time, on budget, within the requirements and quality standards defined.

He or she must be able to effectively communicate with business stakeholders using business terminology as well as possess a decent technical background to enable comprehensive business-IT alignment. This individual will also be communicating with executive level technology management. The role requires tact, diplomacy and strong written and verbal communication skills. The individual should also demonstrate critical analytical skills and sound judgment. The PM role is not a pass through of information that is restricted to reporting and escalation, but a role where the individual must assess the situation, identify possible solutions, weigh the pros and cons of each one, and present optimal responses with mitigation action plans.
