Regulatory Reporting Documentation Specialist
 
The Documentation Specialist is responsible for developing and maintaining processes, procedures and maintaining the integrity of working documents around regulatory reporting requirements. The person is responsible for storage, cataloging, and retrieval of documents and evaluates existing cross-functional processes to identify continuous improvement opportunities and improve quality. The Specialist will ensure effective communications between business and technical resources and ensure that issues around data sourcing, model development and reporting results are accurately documented and conveyed to all parties.  
 
REQUIRED RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  • Document business processes, workflows, and training material.
  • Utilize a variety of software to write, edit, revise, and compare documents according to guidelines.
  • Interview internal Business Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to understand work functions and processes and gather information.
  • Interview internal technical team members who are responsible for data sourcing, development of models and production of regulatory reports
  • Develop materials to document operational end-to-end process flows.
  • Write detailed policy and procedure documents based on discussions with process owners and technical team members. Create documentation that accurately describes processes and reporting results in terms that business users can understand.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities to create accurate and repeatable processes for regulatory reporting efforts
  • Solicit input/feedback from team members to enhance functionality of guideline content so that answers are easy to find and understand.
  • Evaluate and integrate new reporting requirements into the reporting process.
  • Partner with all departments to ensure that an efficient work flow is maintained within and between the departments including data gathering and inputting methodologies for all report production processes.
  • Work to enhance controls, changing processes with automation and develop streamlined reporting processes
  • Support internal audits and regulatory examinations
  • Prepare and present summaries and readouts for interpretation of currently housed data and results of Regulatory Reports
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
 
·        Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field or commensurate experience.
 
Minimum of 5 – 7  years of experience working in a documentation role supporting Financial Regulatory Reporting in the Banking/Mortgage industry
 
 
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience persuasively communicating technical issues to business users; making group presentations; and composing clear, concise documents for internal policies and procedures, proposals and recommendations, and narrative reports.
  • 5 - 7 years' experience of financial statement preparation or financial services regulatory reporting production.
  • ·        Strong knowledge of Dodd Frank regulatory reporting requirements including CCAR and Basel III
  •  
  • Ability to translate regulatory reporting requirements and document and present results of regulatory reporting efforts
  • Knowledge and experience developing process maps and procedural documentation.
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office products. This includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Visio.
  • Excellent analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to independently identify, document, thoroughly research and analyze business process issues from multiple perspectives; and recommend process changes which meet customer and user needs and comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to analyze and anticipate situations, define problems and objectives, recognize alternatives and formulate solutions.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, including the ability to effectively and competently handle multiple priorities simultaneously and the flexibility and ability to quickly adapt to changes in work objectives, processes, and technologies.
  • Ability to work independently and to establish, monitor, and achieve goals with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective, collaborative relationships with customers, stakeholders, and staff at all levels of the organization.
