Position Overview

The Director, IT Service Delivery is responsible for the business focus of an IT Department that is expanding in significance and maturity, to keep up with a rapidly growing company. The Director will be responsible for developing the Business Systems Analyst and Quality Assurance teams and ensuring IT’s alignment with the business. This includes supporting the MIS Customers’ business by developing business system enhancement requests and working with those customers to ensure a cost-benefit analysis is completed. She/he will coordinate the functional & non-functional testing of customer projects from requirements through to implementation and post-project completion; communication and coordination are the cornerstones of this position. A key responsibility of this role is to ensure IT Incidents are reduced to a bare minimum and recurrence is prevented. Adherence to IT processes & improvements to the same (to increase visibility & transparency of the IT organization) are also under the purview of this role.

The Director, IT Service Delivery is primary responsibilities include the following.

  • Guide & strengthen BSA and QA Teams
    • Hire and train top talent
    • Establish clear expectations
    • Coach team to drive towards valued ‘consultant’ relationship with users
    • Pro-actively manage low performers
  • Develop relationships with business function leaders & identify/steer projects to success
    • Take part in team meetings aligned with BSA’s
    • Establish communication and review rhythm with key business leaders
    • Share projects and status updates with teams
  • Ensure proper execution and delivery
    • Align with business to understand requirements
    • Manage BSA, QA and Dev teams through project lifecycle
    • Communicate status (especially on incidents & projects) to the organization
  • Partner in the development of IT roadmap and project solutions
    • Work with IT Leadership to define key projects
    • Ensure solutions are in alignment with roadmap
    • Communicate the roadmap, internally & externally
  • Monitor & improve processes
    • Ensure the priority of deliverables & delivery schedules are clear
    • Drive adoption/improvement of processes & improvements (e.g., time tracking & incident response)

We are seeking candidates with the following experience and skills

  • BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, Business or related filed
  • 10+ years required of management experience with technical staff
  • Experience with merchandising, distribution, network, telecom and business information systems
  • Knowledge and practical experience across formal systems development lifecycle
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with people in various levels and across multiple disciplines within an organization
