Product Owner Finance/Procurement

You are a team player, adept at managing relationships, collaborating, and influencing across a variety Finance, Procurement and Technology team members. Your knowledge, passion and experience help prioritize, influence, overcome blockers and guide the work of others on the extended team. You are comfortable translating to both Finance executives and Technology leadership, ask questions and are continually learning as well as finding opportunities to share knowledge with others. Your teams' success is your success, and actively seek out opportunities to be a good partner across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define, prioritize and communicate the vision and roadmap across Finance and Procurement functions; ensure alignment to company, functional and technology strategies
  • Collaborate with Finance and Procurement Leadership teams to understand their goals and shape the roadmap and sequencing of projects/features/functions to be delivered
  • Creates and maintains the product backlog to align to roadmap deliverables.
  • Prioritizes and sequences the backlog according to business value or ROI.
  • Helps formulate and convey vision and goals with the development team as part of release planning processes.
  • Works with team members and represents the customer by continuously engaging the customer and stakeholders to ensure the team is building the right product.
  • Participates in the daily standups, iteration planning, iteration reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Inspects product progress at key or requested points within an iteration and provides feedback.
  • Communicates status externally and represents the voice of the team to the outside world and should ensure that all channels of communications are open.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • At least two years of experience in a Product Owner Role with a focus on Finance and/or Procurement
  • Able to guide and mentor team members in Agile Best Practices
  • Strong team building skills and ability to motivate and create a sense of accountability among all team members
  • The ability to engage stakeholders and collaborate cross-functionally to achieve results
  • Experience in communicating complex financial problems and proposed solutions to management and executives
  • The ability to handle multiple priorities and continuous change of priorities
  • Subject matter knowledge surrounding core financial processes and systems
  • Experience in leading projects in Finance and Accounting Processes and Systems
  • Subject matter knowledge of Procure to Pay process flows
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion Financials and Procurement (SCM)
  • Able to analyze business requirements, Identify operational gaps, diagnose issues in order to formulate and drive a technical & operational recommendations
  • Understand and develop business processes, document requirements, develop product road maps and guide overall product adoption and satisfaction
