Data Quality Analyst – Product MDM
 
Our client seeks a strong individual to act as a Master Data expert for Product on the centralized Master Data Management (MDM) team. This individual must possess an understanding and knowledge of Master Data and the impact on the business units.  They must interface with business units and analyze product set-up and enrichment processes and work closely with IT to efficiently support and implement those process requirements. They will work with the business to ensure divisional priorities are being addressed and requirements for existing/new processes are followed. This individual must understand the relationship between works, products, contributors, and other integrated functions within the Master Data Management system, STEP. They must also understand the importance of data integrity and will monitor data quality to ensure the business units are adhering to Enterprise standards.  This individual will assist with developing, managing, and enforcing best practices and Enterprise data standards. They will provide training to Master Data Organization to ensure that a complete understanding of product business processes exists among the Master Data Organization. This individual will also assist with global business units integrating into STEP.
 
Description – Internal/External
 
  • Applies knowledge and understanding of divisional requirements appropriately in MDM system, STEP.  Makes recommendations to the business unit based on such knowledge. Specialize in key areas of Master Data such as error resolution and Master Data approval.
  • Monitors the lifecycle of the product, making sure that the appropriate information is updated based on the requirements of the business unit and the business process defined.
  • Creates and maintains Product, based on key area specialization, from information provided by the business unit, verifying that the information is accurate and complete. Understands each business unit’s process and can make recommendations and/or provide support to other team members as needed.
  • Provide training and continued guidance to Master Data Organization to ensure that a complete understanding exists among the team. Identify new processes for the Master Data Organization. Implement, document and train the Master Data Organization with new processes.
  • Understand business’ processes and make recommendations for enhancements to STEP portals and workflows. Understand the downstream implications of changes made to Master Data and processes.
  • Communicates with the business units to understand requirements and to identify priorities for system enhancements
  • Suggest changes, improvements, and enhancements to STEP user portals and assist IT with testing  and troubleshooting bugs, upgrades, changes, and portal enhancements for customer acceptance
  • Create and monitor reports to ensure businesses are adhering to Enterprise data standards and best practices. Provide feedback and additional support and training to business units to increase data quality and integrity
  • Assist with development and defining business rules for an Enterprise data quality dashboard
  • Assist with preparation and follow-up of data governance meetings including updates and maintenance to Enterprise Data Standards Manual
  • Assist with future integration of global divisions into STEP
Qualifications – Internal/External
 
·       Knowledge of library cataloging and authority control practices
·       5 years publishing/book industry and/or Master Data Management experience, preferably STEP 
·       Strong MS Excel & analytical computer skills. SQL and reporting experience a plus. 
·       Proofreading skills with strong attention to detail, preferably experience monitoring and enforcing data quality standards 
·       Analytical and critical thinker 
·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
·       Ability to work in and to contribute to a team environment
