Objective

The Collaboration Platforms Tech Lead will play a strategic and essential role in helping Client adopt continuously-evolving cloud-based collaboration platforms on a variety of devices. This person will provide enterprise-wide thought leadership on how Client employees, contractors, vendors, and partners collaborate with each other inside and outside of the organization in a safe and secure manner. The role is also responsible for oversight of Schoalstic’s identity & access management platforms for employees. Some key questions this role will help Client to answer include:

? What is the best combination of cloud-based collaboration platforms that provide agility and robust security while retaining a light operational overhead?

? How do we evolve our collaboration services to enable us to work effectively beyond our physical locations while retaining the same agility and cohesiveness of begin in the same physical space?

? How do we unlock our content stored behind our digital walls without losing the ability to control who has access to it?

? How do we provide the most robust and secure identity and access management platform to our employees and suppliers as adopt a BeyondCorp philosophy for corporate applications?

Responsibilities

? Connect systems architecture to the business collaboration needs of the company by working closely with key stakeholders and partners.

? Build and maintain the current-state, interim-state and future-state collaboration platforms and services architecture views for the enterprise.

? Own the architecture design and backlog of our enterprise employee identity federation platform Okta as we move enterprise identity beyond our digital borders.

? Participate in Microsoft Active Directory future-state design and Okta integration discussions.

? Drive the retirement of antiquated file sharing and collaboration technologies to be replaced with modern cloud-based enterprise file share and sync services.

? Identify and implement industry best practices around enterprise collaboration and identity & access management.

? Work with external partners on service offerings that provide higher value at the same or lower cost as the industry evolves.

? Evaluate and adopt enterprise quality endpoint protection with the guidance of our enterprise security architect to help us achieve the organizational level objective of 0% unprotected devices registered to our network.

? Evaluate and adopt enterprise quality advanced device management platforms and services to help us achieve our organizational level objective of 0% device loss.

? Provide third level support and guidance to service desk, desk-side and field support teams.

? Provide direction and requirements to Desktop Engineering teams for optimizing and standardizing Windows, MacOS, and Linux images.

? Create state-of-the-art conference room, meeting space, and presentation facilities by providing multi-user, multi-screen, multi-device capabilities, and integration with the cloud applications. These facilities should support remote participants as seamlessly as possible with full video, audio, and screen-sharing support.

? Participate in insightful and relevant architectural conversations around data loss protection of Client’s digital assets with our security architecture team.

? Participate in and guide conversations with Information Security, Access & Compliance and Legal teams about the proper handling of regulatory-controlled corporate data hosted on our collaboration platforms (e.g. COPPA; FERPA; Sarbanes-Oxley; PCI-DSS) .

? Deliver various artifacts as part of the enterprise systems architecture, including systems/network/infrastructure diagrams, reference implementations, best practices, and roadmaps.

? Champion best practices on device issuance throughout the organization.

? Drive exemplar proofs-of-concept or pilots that leverage our systems technology and establish the path for other similar projects.

? Work with other architects around business, data, applications, systems, and security needs and how these best participate in the overall enterprise architecture.

? Establish standards around systems technology stacks and mechanisms for governing cloud-based collaboration infrastructure.

? Participate on the architecture council to provide governance and build processes to guide and sanction critical architectural decisions.

? Monitor market/technology trends along with vendor strategies and determine potential impact to our businesses and systems.

? Develop, document, and present recommendation proposals, including selection criteria, evaluation, analysis of options, tradeoffs, justifications, and final selections.

? Take an active and insightful role in group discussions.

Qualifications

? BA or BS in a technical discipline, advanced degree strongly preferred.

? Minimum of 10 years of experience implementing and supporting enterprise collaboration systems, with a minimum of 3 years in architect roles with demonstrable growth in scope and complexity of the roles filled.

? Extensive experience as a collaboration platform administrator, systems designer, and systems architect in one or more complex enterprise environments, with a strong focus on public cloud-based collaboration platforms such as Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft SharePoint Online, Google G Suite for Work, Atlassian platforms such as Jira and Confluence and team communication platforms such as HipChat or Slack, with a strong preference for Google G Suite architecture and administration.

? Extensive experience with a variety of end user compute and mobility devices, including but not limited to, workstations, desktops, laptops, notebooks, netbooks, tablets, phones and VR.

? Flawless fluency and portability between Windows, MacOS, ChromeOS and common Linux desktop operating systems, as well mobile operating systems including Android and iOS.

? Extensive experience with integrating devices and collaboration platforms with enterprise identity federation platforms and services such as Microsoft Active Directory, AzureAD and Okta, with a strong preference for Okta.

? Ability to work at all levels of the organization including presenting to executives, working with an enterprise architecture team, infrastructure and operations teams and mentoring and coaching of more junior members in technology teams.

? Extensive experience with tools like Google Apps/Drive, Google Hangouts, Hipchat, Cisco telepresence, Mezzanine, and also video streaming tools like Kollective Technology.

? Experience in agile software engineering methods, specifically providing architecture leadership as part of an agile organization, as well as evangelizing the principles behind Minimum Viable Architecture.

? Capable of planning and executing on both short-term and long-term goals and projects individually and with the team. Able to incorporate strategic objectives, commitments, and day-to-day tasks seamlessly.

? Experience in education, publishing, and/or digital media is highly desirable.
