Primary Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include assisting in the coordination of all aspects of security engineering from conceptualization through production implementation as directed by the IT security manager.  Perform patching and updates to security-owned servers and tools, assist in regular vulnerability assessment scanning of our client's infrastructure.  Work with software development, network engineering, and database administrator personnel to ensure understanding of security requirements and resolve questions or issues with end-user departments.  Develop validation procedures to confirm detected vulnerabilities have been remediated.  Help plan and coordinate security awareness training needs for end-user clients.  Provide daily monitoring and oversight of network security.  Assist in the development of user documentation as needed.  Assist in integration and quality assurance testing as needed and provide support for special projects as needed.

Qualifications:

College degree in an IT-related field of study required.  The ideal candidate will possess a good understanding of computer networks and systems, computer security concepts and tools, and a desire to keep up to date on the latest security news and trends. Security related certifications, such as CISSP, GSEC, Comp TIA Security+, CEH or CISM a plus.  Knowledge of and/or a willingness to learn security-specific software such as SEIM, penetration testing and Vulnerability Assessment is a plus.  Knowledge of Microsoft Server, Workstation OS’s, MS Suite, Linux, VMware, wireless networks, firewalls, and Intrusion Detection/Prevention (IPS) systems a plus. Excellent oral and written communication and documentation skills required, particularly in the area of technology.
