Overview:
The Scrum Master is the dedicated team member who has primary responsibility to help the self-organizing, self-managing team reach its goals. Scrum Masters teach Scrum, implement/enforce Scrum practices, and identify and eliminate impediments. The Scrum Master will also be responsible for maturing the team in how Agile is practiced.  This includes understanding key metrics and behaviors through observation and then working with the team on specific steps to improve. This role will also help to protect the team from outside influences, which could interfere with the team’s focus.
 
 
Responsibilities:
·         Serves as the team-based management proxy whose role is to continuously facilitate a team dynamic.
·         Responsible for coordinating all Agile ceremonies for the Scrum team and assuring that the team follows the rules of Scrum.
·         Guides and coaches the Scrum Team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to satisfy customer expectations.
·         Leads both the Scrum Team and the Development team to get the most out of self-organization
·         Collaborates with Product Owner on daily stand-up, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospective meetings.
·         Coordinates with Product Owner for Business Stakeholder Management.
·         Works to remove impediments and facilitates continuous improvement.
·         Coordinates cross team dependencies with other Scrum Masters.
·         Tracks, maintains, and improves team metrics.
·         Supports Program Manager in understanding and communicating team effectiveness and productivity.
 
 
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years Agile experience.
  • Minimum 2 year experience as a Scrum Master.
  • Minimum 5 years managing projects.
  • Robust team facilitation skills, and the ability to build and develop relationships up and down the organizational stack.
  • Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Computer Science or related field.
  • Possess a high level of business and technical savvy. 
  • Proven decision-making and problem-solving skills. 
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including understanding of technical writing requirements.
  • Comfort in delegating tasks, relating with and to teams and hitting deadlines.
  • Strong and proven leadership, with a high degree of passion for team building.
  • Multi-tasking skills and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification preferred, but not required.
  • Advanced knowledge of the software development lifecycle and of several software development methodologies.
  • Experience with processes and tools supporting Agile methodologies (Preferably Jira).
  • Strong mentoring skills.
  • Experience with the education industry and/or consumer-focused software a plus.
