THE OPPORTUNITY
 
 
Our client is looking for an experienced Product Owner who is passionate about creating and delivering an exceptional direct-to-consumer eCommerce experience targeting their 5 core constituents – Teachers, Administrators, Parents, Partners and Librarians.
 
The Product Owner will strategize the best approach for development and oversee the work to execute and release. In this capacity, this individual will develop user stories and test scripts that drive development and test activities. The role is required to demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills, working with agile development teams to drive planning and scoping of releases. The Product Owner will be hands-on, problem solving to ensure success.
 
 
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
 
 
•Project lead for all things related to creating, maintaining, and improving the eCommerce storefront.
•Product Owner in an Agile/SCRUM-based development team, and vision holder for the UX and core experience of the product.
•Own the product roadmap and prioritization of features and functionality. Drive and deliver the growth vision for the organization.
•Work collaboratively with key stakeholders across the organization to prioritize eCommerce roadmap. Proactively recommend and implement best practices and programs.
•Lead cross functional/matrix teams to deliver on time and on budget.
•Oversee and manage product roadmap and backlog.
•Recommend and employ best practices for user experience across all audience segments.
•Stay abreast of changes in the eCommerce environment to best serve the objectives of the store; adjust plan accordingly.
•Familiarity with Agile/SCRUM-based development teams.
•Ability to remotely manage and coordinate with the dev. team through product backlog grooming and prioritization.
•Interact with the business and marketing teams to identify and imagine the most advantageous and in-demand features to add to the project.
•Service project needs, create production schedules and manage overall project timeline, budget, 3rd party vendors and project delivery for eCommerce from conception to live-launch.
•Maintain and disseminate back-end and front-end AEM and Demandware knowledge to project team members and stakeholders.
•Manage JIRA backlog of bug defects and enhancement stories relating to all concurrent projects.
•Coordinate the Parents website processes and procedures. This includes regularly scheduled updates, maintenance and issue fixes.
•Manage the content creation process and QA related issues for both the content and the application/experience.
•Aid in managing the budgets and schedules to align with larger department strategy.
•Further manage the internal production teams on each project, including internal design resources and the QA for these products, both internally and using outside QC vendors

He or she must be able to task manage and prioritize activities efficiently. The candidate must be able to effectively communicate expectations and timelines in a timely and clear fashion and have strong written communication skills. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, organized, and have leadership / management experience. The individual should have experience managing teams and influencing without direct authority. The role requires critical analytical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to establish strong working relationships with business stakeholders. The individual should be adept in telling stories through PowerPoint presentations and Visio diagrams/flows (and any other visual aid tools that are helpful for communications and alignment).
 
 
Requirements:
 
•Bachelor’s degree or better.
•Experience delivering superior eCommerce experiences using AEM and/or Demandware a plus!
•3-5 years previous experience, preferably in an ecommerce environment or for a major transactional site including a demonstrated track record of product conceptualization, development, and launch.
•6+ years of experience in working in eCommerce, Business Process, Product Development/Management for large IT related projects.
•Past experience in a product owner role (at least ~5 years).
•Ability to present complex information in an understandable and compelling manner.
•Understanding of content and product development processes and technologies.
•Experienced at creating and maintaining all process relevant documentation: requirements documents, process flows, data mapping, standard operation procedures.
•Experience working with technology and business SMEs to document as-is and to-be processes and data requirements.
•Exceptional verbal, written and communication skills.
•Strong attention detail and commitment to customer service.
•Exceptional presentation skills.
•Experience or certification in Agile.
•Leadership and management experience (at least ~2-4 years).
•Experience facilitating and defining minimum viable products for releases.
•Ability to solution based on business needs and develop alternatives.
•Ability to understand and manage through dependencies in the technology architecture.
•Experience writing and reviewing user stories and acceptance criteria; Experience working with tech teams (dev/QA).
•Ability to prioritize work across competing efforts.
•Experience working in Agile tools (e.g., JIRA).
