Primary Responsibilities
As a member of the Data Management Technical Services team, the database administrator will provide support, maintenance, administration, and technical leadership for the database environment. This includes overseeing development, organization, and performance evaluation of databases on an enterprise basis over all platforms; assessing and implementing new database technologies; and providing long-term perspective on the relationship of database technology to business opportunities facing the enterprise. Will work with the team to develop skills and share knowledge gained, thereby promoting 3-deep coverage practices. Also includes participation in DevOps and adherence to Change/Problem/Incident/Event Management processes and procedures.
Qualifications
A degree in computer science or similar technical degree with 5+ years of hands-on experience or combination of education and experience demonstrating technical aptitude and interpersonal skills necessary to contribute to the operational and development objectives in a multiplatform environment, including Oracle and SQL Server. Familiar with Erwin Data Modeler tool for review of the physical and logical database design. Experience with database-related programming (Unix shell scripts, Perl, PL/SQL) along with Oracle E-Business Suite are pluses. Cloud and DevOps experience also desirable. Ability to convey complex technical concepts effectively and to communicate well is paramount.
