  • The Business Analyst is responsible to act as the liaison between the Business Users and the Technical teams working on implementing a new POS System.  
  • The Business Analyst must have strong experience working in the Retail Environment and have worked on at least one end to end POS Implementation.  
  • The individual must have strong skills around elicitation and documentation of business requirements and be expert in leading discovery and review sessions with the business.  
  • They must also be well versed in working with technical teams to ensure that the proposed technical design will meet the business requirements.  
  • They will also be responsible for building and driving an effective User Acceptance Test Plan 
 
 
Responsibilities:
  • Work with business users to identify and document requirements.
  • Perform gap analysis to determine if requirements are met by existing application or will require some form of enhancement.
  • Identify alternatives to close gaps, making recommendations that best suit the business need and the long-term application strategy.  
  • Translate these alternatives into an explicit list of required enhancements (process, reports, interfaces, conversions, extensions, workflow).
  • Perform the detailed functional design of the application enhancements.  
  • Facilitate business-owner reviews and obtain sign-off on functional designs.
  • Work with other team members to ensure that the configuration and custom components meet application requirements and performance goals.
  • Perform module set-up and configuration activities.
  • Support the development team as it configures, builds, and tests the application enhancements.
  • Plan, prepare, and execute quality assurance and user acceptance testing.  
  • Engage business users during UAT and facilitate sign-off on test results.
  • Support QA and UAT by implementing design changes to address defects found in testing.
  • Follow good design practices to ensure application quality.
  • Participate in unit test plan and other quality reviews. 
  • Inform the Project Lead of any issues that may affect any other areas of the project.
 
Job Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years experience working as a Business Analyst in a Retail/POS Environment
  • Must have a deep functional knowledge of the POS and Store Systems ecosystem
  • Experience working with business users throughout the SDLC, from analysis through design, build, test and deployment.
  • Experience in leading design review sessions.
  • Ability to translate requirements into functional designs.
  • Ability to talk to both business users and technical team members in  order to properly convey messages in terms that they understand
  • Ability to work independently with minimal assistance.
  • Strong problem solving skills: able to logically break down a problem into smaller manageable parts to solve.
  • Strong organizational skills.  
  • Strong communication (verbal & written) skills
