Description:
In addition to the job description, our client is looking for digital pharma experience and for the candidate to be up to speed on new technology and best practices. They do quite a bit of EHR work, in addition to standard banners, emails, websites, iPads (Veeva), etc.
 
The Senior Project Manager (SPM) is responsible for managing and delivering complex programs and projects for multiple client accounts. All projects under the oversight of the SPM must be delivered on time, on specification and on budget, and supply completed documentation. The SPM will ensure that all client projects are delivered within the delivery process from kickoff to postmortem, working with their Project Management staff, the client and Account Management to clarify program design and details. The SPM also participates in new business activities, yearly account planning and establishment of PM process definition and coordination. Strong communication documentation and technical skills/knowledge are required for this position. The ideal candidate will have both digital and traditional Marketing agency experience.
 
Project Management executes the strategy that supports service delivery excellence, client profitability and client satisfaction, and makes use of best practices across clients.
 
Team Management:
  • Manages team operations, including goal setting, functional management reviews, and ensures that all goals and objectives are well understood by all members of the team
  • May be responsible for managing up to 5 Project Management team members. Facilitates growth and development of direct reports
  • Leads multifunctional team, including Account, Strategy, Medical, IA, Creative, Tech, QA, et al, defining the overall scope of a project
  • Correctly ascertains project risks and future impact of project decisions to ensure project and deliverables stay on track, escalating and documenting as appropriate
  • Develops, owns and manages project and program timelines
  • Is key contributor in weekly resource planning sessions, evaluates staffing needs across clients and brands; works with other department leads to prioritize work, fill resource gaps and anticipate future resource needs
  • Ensures that all team members are following agency and client standard operating procedures and utilizing appropriate tools and templates for each required task. Identifies and communicates team training needs
  • Develops employee performance reviews for all Project Management team members assigned
  • Sets goals, produces follow-up reports and tracks career development for each team member
  • Gathers technical and other specifications from client and/or Account Management and/or discipline lead
  • Manages the issue logging and management process over the life of an engagement
 
Client Services:
  • Serves a client-facing role supporting the business objectives and delivery
  • Maintains a solid understanding of performance metrics, creative development and cross-channel technology implementation
  • Ensures all QA has been performed and approves completeness of project deliverables
  • Manages internal and client expectations as they relate to project scope
  • Shows firm understanding of MLR submissions and is comfortable with incorporating quality control processes into each submission – i.e., testing, proofreading, annotating
  • Is proficient in organizing project workflow and creative deliverables between agency, internal client technology team and vendor management
 
Business Responsibilities:
  • Evangelizes for best practice PM process / methodologies to ensure efficiency in workflow practices across all capabilities and partners with all agency capabilities to build understanding of PM process
  • Leads collaboration and development of annual scope and project estimates through approval (fee and OOP)
  • Takes ownership and delivery management of annual scope once approved (fee and OOP)
  • Tracks ongoing costs and changes in scope throughout project lifecycle and reconciles estimates to actuals on all projects
  • Develops and ensures potential mitigation strategies are implemented to ensure seamless project delivery
  • Ensures that project resource allocation and utilization are accurate and in line with project estimated budgets
  • Escalates investments and defines financial business opportunities for the Account team and senior management for client engagements
 
REQUIREMENTS:
  • BS / BA degree preferred
  • Minimum requirements include 5-8 years’ multichannel Project Management experience in Pharma/Health Care space at an agency, including but not limited to email, Web development, print and direct mail. At least 4 years in interactive or development areas.
  • Experienced in managing minimum of 25 projects concurrently, and multibrand portfolios
  • Proficient in budget management of minimum $3 million in annual scope.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of, and experience with, the latest trends in both the traditional and interactive marketing industries including emerging digital platforms
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Project and its use to create task-based, resource-allocated project plans
  • Previous experience managing Project Management team members
